Day 1 Airport – Ratnapura
Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Ratnapura.
Rathnapura is most famous gem-mining location in Sri Lanka. Situated
101 km from Colombo. Rathnapura is situated in the foothills of the 2243 m
high Adam’s Peak. Sri Lanka produces precious stones such as Sapphires,
Cat’s Eyes, Alexandrines, Aquamarines, Tourmalines, Garnets, Amethysts,
Topaz etc. King Solomon was said to have procured a great Ruby for Queen
Sheba from here.
Dinner and over night at Rathnapura.
Day 2 Rathnapura – Singharaja
After breakfast leave for Singharaja Forest,
Sri Lanka’s one and only remaining rainforest. A narrow road cuts through the heart of its 50 square miles virgin forest, which is a haven for endemic flora & fauna which has a rain fall of 200 inches fall annually spread throughout the year.
Dinner & over night at Singharaja
Day 3 Singharaja – Yala
After early breakfast leave for Yala for a half a day safari.
Yala one could sight Elephant, Leopard, Bear and Buffalo. Other mammals such as sambhur, spotted deer, jackal, mongoose and several species of monkeys could be sighted very frequently. The bird life at YALA is also very vivid and rich in numbers, especially during the months of November to April when thousands of migratory birds arrive in Sri Lanka.

Day 4 Yala – Horton Plains – Nuwara-Eliya
Early breakfast and leave for Horton Plains.
Horton Plains is Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau is home to many species of birds. The famous world’s end, a sheer drop of 1,050 meters is in Horton Plains.
Dinner & over night stay Nuwara Eliya.
Day 5 Nuwara – Eliya – Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy – en route visit a Tea Factory to view tea production. City tour of Kandy. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which fell to the British in 1815. This hill capital is situated in a valley 1600 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountains & virtually encircled by the scenic Mahaweli river; the longest in Sri Lanka. Due to it’s Its cultural and religious significance UNESCO designated the Sacred City of Kandy as a World Heritage Site in 1988.
Dinner & over night stay in Kandy.
Day 6 Kandy – Giritale
After breakfast leave to visit Sigiriya rock fortress.
Sigiriya the lion rock is more than just a fortress which rises 600ft from the shrub jungle surrounding it. This famous rock fortress was built in the 5th Century AD by King Kashyapa.
Dinner and over night stay at Giritale.
Day 7 Giritale – Colombo
After breakfast, leave for Colombo en route visiting Pinnawala.
The Elephant Orphanage located in Kegalle approx 80km from Colombo. This orphanage was established to give shelter to elephants who are displaced from their natural habitats.

Day 8 Colombo – Airport
After breakfast leave to airport for departure
