Overview
Surya Lanka Ayurveda Resort was opened in 1995 – one of the first Ayurveda hotels in Sri Lanka to cater exclusively to Panchakarma guests. It offers some of the most authentic Ayurveda in Sri Lanka, where guests can choose between the Ayurveda Light program, the Ayurveda Intensive program or the Ayurveda Heil program. Surya Lanka is known worldwide as a shining jewel among the Ayurveda Retreats in Sri Lanka, famous for its comprehensive classical Ayurveda treatment as well as for its exceptional care and generous hospitality.
Situated on one of the most picturesque beaches in Sri Lanka, it is an oasis of relaxation for those Ayurveda guests looking for the the perfect Ayurveda Hotel to refresh their mind and body. In addition to the stunning beach-side location Surya Lanka also has two large palm fringed gardens, where guests relax in between Ayurveda treatments.
Accommodation
All accommodation options at Surya Lanka have been purpose built for an Ayurveda hotel in Sri Lanka. Our 43 rooms have been spread out over five separate buildings, ensuring maximum privacy and quiet. All rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious, with large private balconies or terraces each with its own garden and/or ocean views.
We consciously avoid television and telephones in the rooms to further enhance a sense of peace and harmony essential for an Ayurveda and Yoga retreat. Since natural ventilation is recommended during an Ayurveda program, Surya Lanka only offers a limited number of AC rooms.
Available Room Types
These twenty four rooms have been spread out over Surya Lanka’s two original buildings. All ground floor rooms have spacious terraces and all upper floor rooms have their own private balcony with partial sea/garden views.
This cluster of five rooms are located on the first floor of the building closest to the beach. These rooms have all been recently renovated for increased comfort, and each contains a balcony facing the ocean.
This set of fouteen elegant rooms are located in the newest building in Surya Lanka facing its own separate garden containing tall coconut and ‘Kottamba’ trees. The four ground floor rooms have spacious terraces, whereas the ten upper floor rooms each have their own balcony. All rooms have a simple, minimalist design and feature colourful interior decor including hand loom furnishings.
