You can look forward to visiting some of the National Wildlife Parks and the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, and the Horton Plains Reserve will likewise provide you with opportunities to see many species of animals and birds. There will also be cultural elements included in the tour with visits to the Temple of the Tooth and a city tour of Kandy, ensuring that these 10 days are both action-filled and informative

Day 01 Airport – Ratnapura


Arrival and transfer to hotel in Ratnapura. “Ratnapura is most famous gem-mining location in Sri Lanka 101 km from Colombo. It is situated in the foothills of the 2243m high Adam’s Peak. Sri Lanka produces precious stones such as Rubies, Sapphires, Cat’s Eyes, Alexandrines, Aquamarines, Tourmalines, Garnets, Amethysts, Topaz etc. King Solomon was said to have procured a great Ruby for Queen Sheba from here.”

Overnight at Ratnapura.


Day 02 Ratnapura – Sinharaja


After breakfast leave for Sinharaja Forest, “Sri Lanka’s remaining rain-forest. A narrow road cuts through the heart of its 50 square miles virgin forest, which is a haven for endemic flora & fauna which has a rain fall of 200 inches fall annually spread throughout the year.”

Day 03 Singharaja – Udawalawe – Embilipitiya


After early breakfast leave for Uda Walawe for a half a day safari. One could sight Elephant, spotted deer, jackal, mongoose and several species of birds could be sighted very frequently.

Day 04 Embilipitiya – Yala


After early breakfast leave for Yala for a half a day safari. Yala Deer“One could sight Elephants, Leopard, Bear and Buffalo. Other mammals such as sambhur, spotted deer, jackal, mongoose and several species of monkeys could be sighted very frequently. The bird life is also very vivid and rich in numbers, especially during the months of November to April when thousands of migratory birds arrive in Sri Lanka.”

Day 05 Yala – Nuwara-Eliya


Nuwara Eliya After breakfast leave for Nuwra Eliya. City tour and leisure at Nuwara Eliya. “The center of the hill country also called the “Hill station” in British colonial jargon. This ruggedly picturesque location almost 6200 feet in elevation with it’s soft English spring climate is very English in it’s landscape & buildings; which of course was started by the British, who made it their hill resort, during their rule in Sri Lanka, (then called Ceylon).”

Day 06 Horton Plains – Nuwara-Eliya

Horton Plains Early breakfast and leave for Horton Plains. “Horton Plains is Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau is home to many species of birds. The famous world’s end, a sheer drop of 1,050 meters is in Horton Plains.”

Overnight stay Nuwara Eliya.


Day 07 Nuwara-Eliya – Kandy


After breakfast leave for Kandy – en route visit a Tea Factory to view tea production. City tour of Kandy. “Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which fell to the British in 1815. This hill capital is situated in a valley 1600 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountains & virtually encircled by the scenic Mahaweli river; the longest in Sri Lanka. Due to it’s Its cultural and religious significance UNESCO designated the Sacred City of Kandy as a World Heritage Site in 1988.”

Overnight stay in Kandy.


Day 08 Kandy – Giritale


After breakfast leave to visit Sigiriya rock fortress. ”Sigiriya the lion rock is more than just a fortress which rises 600ft from the shrub jungle surrounding it. This famous rock fortress was built in the 5th Century AD by King Kashyapa”.

Overnight stay at Giritale.



Day 09 Giritale – Colombo


After breakfast, leave for Colombo en route visiting Pinnawala. ”The Elephant Orphanage located in Kegalle approx 80km from Colombo. This orphanage was established to give shelter to elephants who are displaced from their natural habitats.”
