Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 - Airport / Kandy

Airport transfer to a Hotel in Kandy.

“Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which fell to the British in 1815. This hill capital is situated in a valley 1600 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountains & virtually encircled by the scenic Mahaweli river; the longest in Sri Lanka. Due to it’s Its cultural and religious significance UNESCO designated the Sacred City of Kandy as a World Heritage Site in 1988 “

Day 02 - Kandy

A visit to the Kandy Temple and leisure at your hotel.

“The Sacred Tooth Relic (Dâlada) of the Buddha is the most venerated object of worship for Buddhists. Its present house, the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Dâlada Mâligâwa) in Kandy, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is considered the foremost sacred place of worship in the Buddhist world. Built in the Sinhalese architectural style in the 16th century, the temple originally was within the king’s palace complex, because it was a symbol of royal authority. Today, the temple is controlled by layman, the Diyawadne, elected by the high priests of the Malwatte and Asgiriya monasteries in Kandy.”

Day 03 - Kandy / Wasgamuva

After breakfast leave for Wasgamuva. A half a day Jeep Safari of the Wasgamuva National park.

Day 04 - Wasgamuva

Full day Jeep safari in the park.

“Wasgamuwa National Park was originally declared as strict nature reserve in 1938 and then change to a national park in 1984. The park lies within central and north- central provinces. The total park area is 39,322 ha and is very popular for Elephants.”

Dinner & overnight stay at in side the park in a bungalow.

Day 05 - Wasgamuva / Yala

After breakfast visit leave for Yala. You will check – in at a hotel in Yala and relax.

Day 06 - Yala

Proceed to Yala National Park in a jeep for a full day safari.

“The wild life paradise with a terrain of scrub jungle, with the sea and river as its boundaries is a National Reserve of 126,786 ha. The majestic elephant are the most famous residents at Yala, while the visitor with a sharp eye could spot leopards. The bear could be sighted in the evenings, while hundreds of shy spotted deer roam freely. Visitors can observe the jackals slinking away, monkeys at their pranks chattering away, wild boar and buffalo at their watering holes”

Day 07 - Yala

Full day safari at Yala National Park .

Day 08 - Yala / Embilipitiya

After breakfast depart for Embilipitiya to relax in a hotel with a view of Lake.

Day 09 - Embilipitiya / Uda walawe

After lunch you will visit Uda walawe national park in Jeep.

“Uda Walawe lies South of the central hills of the island, and it surrounds the man made reservoir of Uda Walawe, which is part of the park. It is a mixture of abandoned teak plantation, scrub jungle & grassland.One could sight Elephant, spotted deer, jackal, mongoose and several species of birds could be sighted very frequently.”

Day 10 - Uda Walawe

Full day safari at Uda walawe National Park .

Day 11 - Uda Walawe / Bentota

After breakfast leave to Bentota en-route you could visit the Galle fort.

Dutch 'Star' (Galle) Fort covers nearly 36 hectares and is in the middle of the Galle Town. The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century, through the Colonial periods of the Portuguese, Dutch and British and in our present times is proclaimed as an archaeological reserve and been identified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The 300 year old Dutch atmosphere is still very much alive around the fort. Walking around the fort you will encounter the well-preserved Groote Kerk (Dutch Church), Dutch Government House, old bell tower and a tide-based Sewage-System, also introduced by the Dutch. The former the New Oriental Hotel (built in 1684), is now converted into the luxury Amangalle hotel. Many residences are now converted to small luxury hotels.

Day 12 - Bentota / Airport

After breakfast a city tour of Colombo and proceed to the airport in time for the fligh
