Detailed Itinerary

Day 01- Airport / Colombo

ColomboAirport transfer to a Hotel in Colombo.

“Colombo is a fascinating city not only for a comfortable blend of east & west, but also a cosy mixture of past & present. It is the commercial hub of the country & is only 34 Km from the airport. Places of interest are the Galle Face Green, the Fort, Pettah, Town Hall, Independence Memorial Hall etc”
 
Dinner & Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 02 - Colombo / Kitulagala

Leave Colombo after breakfast for Kitulgala. Bird watching and visit Beli lena caves.

“This is a famous cave where the 12,000 year old skeletal remains of the Balangoda Man (Homosapiens Balangodensis) were found. Also found here are the waste parts of the food consumed by them. The floor is strewn with shells of river snails, which seems to have been a major part of their diet.  This is a very large cave with a vast space inside where about a thousand people can gather easily.”

Day 03 - Kitulagala

After breakfast white water Rafting at Kitugala. Evening at your leisure.

“The Kelani river graded 2/3 rafting site stretches for six kilometers with seven exciting rapids namely, Teaser, Virgin’s Breast, Butter Crunch, Killer Fall, White Quarter, Head Chopper and Rafter’s Quarter. A briefing is given prior to running in the river with instructions on paddling techniques and “Man overboard Procedures “.

NuwaraeliyaDay 04 - Kitulagala /Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. Evening visit the Hakgala botonical gardens.

“The center of the hill country also called the “Hill station” in British colonial jargon. This ruggedly picturesque location almost 6200 feet in elevation with it’s soft English spring climate is very English in it’s landscape & buildings; which of course was started by the British, who made it their hill resort, during their rule in Sri Lanka, (then called Ceylon)”.

Day 05 - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Horton Plains. Visit the World End and Bakers falls.
“The rugged mountain route to the plains is a tough drive; but the hauntingly beautiful surroundings & majestic scenery will keep them enthralled throughout the journey. Horton Plains is a highland plateau comprising montane grassland and elfin forest. It is home to a large variety of endemic birds & flora. BentotaDay 06 - Nuwara Eliya / Bentota

After breakfast  leave for Bentota. Leisure at a Beach hotel.

Day 07 - Bentota

Day 08 - Bentota /Colombo

After breakfast leave for Colombo. City tour of Colombo.
