Hideaway, situated in the village of Wathuregama, is an hour’s drive
from the airport just 36 km from Katunayake. Set on 5 acres of lush greenery
it is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a long flight. The drive
to Hideaway itself is a beautiful experience, passing long stretches of
paddy and coconut and a number of colonial bungalows known as Walauwas.
Atmosphere
Hideaway is an 85-year-old Walauwa, now refurbished and decorated with a modern yet aesthetic touch. It is essential that it be described in close connection to its large garden. The garden is abundant in tropical fruits (especially juicy Pineapples), vegetables and coconut palms. The villa is self sufficient in organic local vegetation and you will be eating freshly garden picked vegetables and fruits throughout your stay in Hideaway.
