Lunuganga, Bentota - Accommodation

The bungalow acts as the nucleus of Lunuganga. The only place from where the separate contained spaces of the garden can be viewed, grasped and fully appreciated.
The main house and outlaying additions consist of four double-bedded suites with private bathrooms. The rooms are filled with Bawa's collection of antiques and personally designed/ selected objects'd art, which are stylish and memorable.

The Guest Room (Double en-suite)

This double en-suite Guest room is located in the main house. Private and secluded, the guest room opens out to a small outdoor courtyard.

The Gallery / Studio (Double en-suite)

This large suite was Geoffrey Bawa's private art gallery. The studio which was converted over 20 years ago into his large suite boasts both an outdoor private courtyard as well as a large private sitting room.

The Glass Room/ Long Room (Double en-suite)

Built over the entrance loggia, the Glass Room has been the home of many an artist over the years. The Long Room is the perfect place to paint, read or simply relax.

The Donald Friend Room (Double en-suite)

Named after the famous Australian artist Donald Friend, a frequent visitor to Lunuganga, the former gate house, has now been converted into an amazing room with views of the adjacent jungle.

The Cottage at Cinnamon Hill (2 double en-suite bedrooms, indoor & outdoor living, butler service)

On the edge of the trees of Cinnamon hill, with views across the tank towards the Katakuliya temple, lays the The Cottage at Cinnamon Hill. This structure with two bedrooms with open-to-the sky bathrooms is the ultimate in privacy and tranquility. Cinnamon Hill's own butler will be able to present your meals at your convenience. Dinner is served at the main house and the walk after dinner to the Cinnamon Hill will certainly be a pleasant experience.

Things to see and do

The superb beach at Bentota is five minutes away. Transport could be arranged on request. You could bike to Bevis Bawa's (Geoffrey Bawa's brother) garden, the Brief, and have a gourmet meal at the garden.

You could visit Colombo or Galle on a day trip, or even make a trip to Adam's Peak.
