situated in Mount Lavinia is only 12 km from Colombo and 50km from the airport. With only an hour's drive (1 ½ if with traffic) from the airport, it makes a great resting place after a long flight and is a perfect base for exploring Colombo .
Atmosphere
The Mount Lodge is a lovely haven, a home away from home. Don't be disheartened by the outer appearance of the place, just step inside and you will find the most charming and relaxing atmosphere to simply unwind. The house is designed to traditional Sri Lankan style and is decorated with antique artifacts and local paintings on white washed walls.
The villa has three floors, built to an open plan with cemented floors and stone-walled gardens creating patterns of light and outdoor terraces to enjoy the sun.
Mount Lodge is about simplicity, peace of mind and relaxation. Return after a long day of sight seeing and shopping in the busy streets of Colombo and relax with a sundowner in the lovely terraces or the comfy sofas and you'll be as good as new.
Accommodation
The house can be rented in whole or on room basis. It has three floors and four doubles. Two are twin rooms and one is a double and the top floor room is the Mount suite or Honeymoon suite.The place is perfect for a family or friends and the top suite is ideal for a honeymoon couple.The Honeymoon suite has its own lovely garden on the roof, a sitting area and lounge and the room is decorated with antiques and a large four-poster bed. Designed to the open concept to enjoy natural air and light, the villa does not have air-conditioning.
The ground floor has a sitting area and dining connecting to the kitchen and a lovely indoor garden filled with tropical plants.
Breakfast can be continental or a feast of traditional dishes. Lunch and dinner is on prior arrangement. Alternatively take a walk down the road and you will find many great seafood restaurants.
The Mount Lavinia Hotel is only a few minutes walk if you want to take a swim in the pool.
