A combination of a gold leaf Italian kasata flavored with
Baileys and served with a mango and pomegranate compote and a
champagne sabayon enlighten, forms the mouthwatering base of

carat aquamarine stone nestled on the handmade chocolate stilt
fisherman. This one of a kind culinary delight has definitely
got people around the world buzzing with awe.

The newest Hotels, located within 5km of the ‘8th Wonder of the World’-Sigiriya- is the creation of a truly ‘Lifestyle Hotel’. Sigiriya, located within the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka is famous for its rich history and Sri Lankan heritage. The introduction of a wetland on reclaimed agricultural lands within the Dry Zone, provides the unique backdrop for this exciting new property. Inspired from local and rural traditions.

A private nature reserve provides a haven for wildlife and a setting of peace and tranquility. The hotel is possibly the first in the world to construct a wetland system with lakes and reed beds to form a private nature reserve.

This has allowed for the first time in Sri Lanka for rooms to be built over water. Centered around water bodies are parklands and woodlands, designed for leisure; an extension of the ancient practice of planning gardens for pleasure.

A challenge has been overcome, for the conversion of Dry Zone chena lands formed by slash & burn agriculture, to a seasonal wetland (land that is inundated by water for part of the year). The colonization of the new habitats by local fauna and flora has been accelerated by the planting of reed beds and groves of trees.

5 acres of land was used to re-grow paddy using traditional methods of farming and harvesting, providing a new and exciting feature. Rooms have been placed within the paddy fields, thereby giving the guest a unique opportunity of participating in both the farming and harvesting if they wished; yet another first in Sri Lanka! The regeneration of the forested groves create a feeling of ultimate privacy and seclusion in the Forest Lodges, the largest of the Chalets.

The tastefully designed rooms boast space as its hallmark of luxury. Dine in the privacy of your room or ‘under the stars’ or simply relax and pamper yourself at the Island Spa with a range of treatments to choose from.

The many components of the ecosystem will be subject to continuous monitoring. The hotel is unique in building a research facility from inception. Though Sri Lanka is virtually unknown in the field of Golf, it has a long history dating back to 1895 when the Colonial Secretary, an ardent golfer himself in consultation with the then Governor of Sri Lanka, Sir Joseph West Ridgeway, offered the Alfred Model Farm-named after the son of Queen Victoria to the golf club. The course was opened by Governor Ridgeway and was first named Ridgeways and in 1896 was named the Royal Colombo Golf Club after much restructuring.

Sri Lanka boasts of having three of the finest 18 hole Golf courses comparable to those in Asia. The three courses are situated in Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. The elevations and climatic conditions in each location differ to the extent that some golfers often comment that it is like playing in three different countries.

Apart from playing golf, the guests are offered the additional option of seeing some of the islands Cultural and World Heritage sites and its attractions.

Royal Colombo Golf Club

Royal Colombo Golf Club It is 125 years since the Royal Colombo Golf Club was first inaugurated and is the second oldest outside the British Isles next to the Royal Calcutta Golf Club established 175 years ago. The club remains a showpiece after being re-designed by architects of world repute, Donald Steel and Martin Ebert. The course is absolutely beautiful and the clubhouse is studded with comfortable foyers, a Coffee Shop named Ridgeways and it offers much privacy and fine Dining.

Royal Colombo Golf Club This 5770 m (par 71) golf course offers challenges through its many water hazards and bunkers which can test even the seasoned players. The sixth hole is supposed to be a treat where golfers encounter the Kelani Valley train which passes across the fairways.

Victoria International Golf and Country Resort

This 517 acre 6877m (par 73) course is one of the latest in Sri Lanka and was designed by the famous British Golf Architects – Donald Steel and Company.. Royal Colombo Golf Club Sri lankaThis quiet location allows the golfer to become absolutely absorbed in his game, whilst if he takes a short break, he is liable to spot one of over several species of birds ; the White-bellied Sea Eagle, the Egret, the Red-wattled Lapwing, the Indian Roller ; along with the Deer, Mongoose, Fishing cat, and other wild life commonly found in the region.

Nuwara Eliya Golf Club

nuwara eliya golf courseThe Nuwara Eliya Golf Club built in 1891, It’s located in the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya; once the favourite hill station of the British ; at the base of Mount Pidurutalagala, in the heart of tea country.

The 5520 m (par 71) course is situated about 1890m above sea level. It features fir lined fairways, bunkers and scenic surroundings. The 9th is an island green surrounded by bunkers. Water (rivers) come into play on 6 holes.

Replanting for future generations to enjoy

Coral Sands Hotel, Hikkaduwa, supports the International Diving School, located in the hotel premises, in its unique environmental preservation project to restore the coral reefs in the Hikkaduwa Marine Park. Sri Lanka Tourism congratulates Somadasa Silva of the Diving School, whose valiant efforts at initiating the coral replanting programme was recognized and felicitated by the German Travel Agents Association in Teneriffe.
